F is for Frog.
1. Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel
This book is a collection of short stories of two friends who do everything together, from learning to be brave, binging on irresistible cookies, and planting a garden. The Frog and Toad collection is part of the young readers series “I Can Read Book.”
2. Frog in the Bog by Karma Wilson
This is our all-time favorite frog book. This book is illustrated with splashes of moody watercolors to capture the bog. A frog, sits on a log, eating quite like a hog. He learns a lesson quickly about sitting on a “half-sunk log in the middle of the bog.” The rhyme and rhythm will have you reading it repeatedly.
3. The Classic Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher by Beatrix Potter
One rainy afternoon, Mr. Jeremy Fisher, a frog who loved to get his feet wet, headed to the pond with his basket and rod in tow. He planned to catch fish and invite his friends over for dinner. Whew! What a turn of events, barely making it to dinner with his friends.

4. Big Al by Andrew Clements
It is hard for Big Al to make friends because of his scary appearance. He continues to try to make friends with all the tiny fish and fails until one day. Big Al rescues the tiny fish from a net, and they learn that he is the nicest and friendliest fish in the sea. If you enjoy this book, there is also Big Al and Shrimpy.
5. Pout Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen
The gloomy and blue Pout-Pout fish spreads the “dreary-wearies” all over the place, but he finds a fish that brightens his day, and he spreads “cheery-cheeries” all over the place.

This book always causes my little ones to giggle. A simple but classic book of opposites and silly rhymes.

This is a fun counting book with rhyming text to help young children count from down to ten.
