Kid Friendly Tropical Green Smoothie- Pineapple Spinach Smoothie Recipe

Beat the heat with a kid-friendly green smoothie packed with tropical fruits and a handful of spinach. The best way to beat the summer heat and add vitamins and minerals to your family's diet. Freeze leftovers for yummy popsicles.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup milk (or dairy alternative)
  • 1-2 tsp honey omit if serving to a child under the age of 1 year
  • handful of ice

Equipment

  • Blender

Method
 

  1. First, gather all ingredients and wash all produce.
  2. Next, blend in a blender for approximately 45 seconds or until desired consistency.
  3. Now, pour into a glass or bowl. Add toppings if desired, and ENJOY!

Notes

  • Topping Ideas: coconut flakes, sliced ripe bananas, pineapple chunks, hemp seeds, and chia seeds. 
  • Freeze leftover smoothies in ice cube trays with a popsicle stick for a healthy snack for later. Perfect for a hot summer day. 
  • Protein powder is a great optional add-in.
