Kid-Friendly Avocado Green Smoothie Recipe

The combination of avocados and bananas makes this the creamiest green smoothie recipe. The best part is the sneaky veggie, spinach. The color is vibrant green and sure to grab your children's attention. A green smoothie the whole family will love!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup milk or dairy alternative
  • 1/4 cup greek yogurt
  • 1-2 tsp honey omit if serving to a child under the age of 1 year
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds optional
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • pinch of salt (<1/8 tsp) optional

Method
 

  1. First, gather all ingredients and wash all produce.
  2. Next, blend in a blender for approximately 45 seconds or until desired consistency.
  3. Now, pour into a glass or bowl. Add toppings if desired, and ENJOY!

Notes

  • Topping ideas: coconut flakes, sliced ripe bananas, blueberries, pineapple chunks, hemp seeds, and chia seeds.
  • Freeze leftover smoothies in ice cube trays with a popsicle stick for a healthy snack for later. Perfect for a hot summer day.
  • Protein powder is a great optional add-in. If adding protein powder, increase your liquid as needed.
