I included this book in the outdoor adventure booklist because I could not help but think of J.R.R. Tolkien’s quote, “I wisely started with a map.” Oh, how the imagination is sparked by the making of a map. I, also, think of Anne of Green Gables, as she labels “The Lake of Shining Waters.”
4. Camilla, Cartographer by Julie Dillemuth
This inspiring book ignites a love for adventure and the joy of maps. has a passion for collecting maps and dreams of exploring and uncovering new trails. One snowy morning, she seizes the chance to create fresh paths in the snow for her neighbor.

5. Moon: A Peek-Through Picture Book by Britta Teckentrup
This book is filled with simple rhyming text and beautiful illustrations. The book depicts the lunar cycle, showing the moon changing sizes and shapes. This is one of our favorite bedtime stories and my girls love all the woodland animals.

Say goodnight to all the familiar objects safely tucked in the great green room. This classic board book for young children contains simple text and high-contrast images.
