Training Young Hearts Series Review: Amazing Books for Kids
Training Young Hearts Series Review. These books could not come at a better time. My girls are both book lovers, and we are focused on training our kids to love God and love people. Therefore, I could not wait to add this awesome Training Young Heart Series to our home library!
The Training Young Hearts books are sturdy board books with lift-the-flap features. Rooted in the Gospel. An effective tool to aid parents and teachers in teaching truth and obedience by pointing them to Christ and preparing them to live a life centered in Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit. These books are perfect for ages 0-3 years. The newest addition to the series is geared towards +3 years old, Your Amazing Hands.
My youngest immediately loved the flaps which led to fun games and repetitive positive statements of the appropriate actions for our mouths and hands. The simple text is clear and constructive. This gave us a perfect way to rehearse the truth of the Gospel and the purpose of our bodies to glorify God. It’s hard to find books that are rooted in TRUTH. The focus is not only on our actions, but Christ’s. Towards the end, it introduces kids to forgiveness and repentance.

Training Young Hearts Series Review
1. What Are Hands For? by Abbey Wedgeworth
“My hands were made to raise in PRAISE to GOD for his FORGIVENESS and his HELP!”
This interactive book features positive actions for hands. The simple text points the young reader back to Christ. Christ lived as an example of serving and helping others and ultimately spreading His perfect hands on the cross so that God could open His hands for us.
This helpful and engaging training tool will help parents to teach their kids that God didn’t make their hands for behaviors like snatching, pushing, or hitting but for positive actions like waving, clapping, praying, high-fiving, helping, and serving.

5. Your Amazing Hands by Abbey Wedgeworth
This addition to the Training Young Hearts series is filled with simple rhyming text and colorful illustrations perfect for little ones. Reading this book with little ones teaches them all the creative, interesting, helpful, and fun things their hands can do. There are so many things I love about this book: the clear presentation of the Gospel, the diverse group of children, and the bright illustrations.
‘Your FANTASTICAL hands can change someone’s whole DAY if you share yummy snacks or beckon, “Come play!”‘
This book also reminds us that we are all sinners. “But our hands sometimes do what God says we should not.”
The text points the young reader to Christ. Christ did only good and used His hands to serve. He knew we would fail so he stretched His hands out on the cross. He died and rose! “So the power that raises Him could live inside you.”
Children will be inspired by all the creative and interesting things their hands can do—they can even use them to bring comfort and joy to others! They’ll discover that Jesus had hands just like ours and that he always used his hands in the most amazing ways, including to save us.
